Our range aims to follow the new trend of luxury and sustainability. With a mixture of different practices put in place we aim to spread the most successful ones throughout each department within Target, from homewares to clothing and even smaller good.
The idea of sourcing locally has become a recent card placed on the table as in Australia and around the globe we are seeing events from natural disasters to health epidemics.
In January Australia was hit with the bushfires, just as horrific and emotional as Black Friday was, small towns and businesses were burnt to the ground. Leaving families stranded and businesses loosing their life works. This stems from farmers who grow large crops as a source of food fro the rest of the country to small trades also being hit. In relation to our industry that we work in, sourcing cottons and many other natural fibres, they come from these crops burnt to ash. It is the time now to help re-grow these farms and help where possible. This is just one of the many thing Eco-Luxe aims to achieve. By working with the Better Cotton Initiative Australia, our range implements naturally grown and locally sourced cotton. The funds helps payback our farmers for their livelihood. Another one of our sustainable practices which is quite unique is the recyclable filling within our pillows.
As we researched ideas for our products, we came across ‘Innergreen‘ for 2 years Innergreen have developed a line of corn fibre which is 100% biodegradable and compostable. The fibre is naturally hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial and contains a very low flammability rating. The fibre also upholds excellent wicking and moisture management properties, keeping you cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. Through the manufacturing process Innergreen are saving more than one tone of CO2 emissions per fibre tone.
For every 1kg of fibre used, we are saving 70 water bottles from ending up in landfill. What’s even better about this fibre is that is Australian made and manufactured. With the epidemic of Coronavirus hitting us, manufacturing overseas has seen a hit. That’s why we find it so important to have product Australian sourced and made.
